QUESTION & ANSWER

When did you first know that you wanted to pursue a career in this field?

My college counselor put me in a class while getting my MBA where the professor was top notch. Prior to that class, I thought that HR was just about putting on parties...little did I know that it is much more than that.

What makes you passionate about the hospitality industry?

Every day is different where I get to impact the lives of our guests and service professionals on a daily basis. 

Share a piece of advice you've received in your career that has stuck with you and made a significant impact.

1) Everyone can do more with less. There is always a way to streamline processes to make them more efficient; to get to those points, don't be afraid to ask others for their input.
2) Being on time is late, being early is to be on time.

What is one thing most people don't know about you?

One thing most people don't know about me is that I applied to the FBI and wanted to be an agent or cop. Instead, I was a Director of Security at several night clubs in Miami.

What is one thing you can't live without

My dog, Vader.

What are some of your favorite hobbies?

Some of my favorite hobbies are skiing, skinning, road biking, mountain biking, paddle boarding (SUP), hiking, and white water rafting.

If you had the power to master any skill instantly, what would it be?

I would choose to master the Kuntao style of self defense.

What is a passion project or personal goal you're actively pursuing outside of work?

A personal goal I'm aiming for is getting 50 days of skiing on our mountains, and 20 days of skinning. 

Who is your hero and why?

My Dad is my hero. Although he passed away, he was part of the starting/founding team for Carnival Cruise Lines; he taught me my work ethic and how to play baseball and basketball.

What travel destination is on your bucket list?

Egypt is on my bucket list.

What would your perfect weekend look like?

In the winter, my perfect weekend would be to ski in the morning, skin with Vader in the evening and have a chocolate gooey chip cookie and pizza or wings. In the summer, my perfect weekend would be to road or mountain bike, hike with Vader, and enjoy the same fattening food as above.
